New Townhomes ~ Developments in Surrey I think you should know about

CREST Townhomes

I recently visited three new townhome developments that I believe warrant mentioning.

I had a tour of Crest Townhomes yesterday, where there are only four of 22 homes left, and here are the things I think are different and make this a very desirable product.

Let’s start with the roof-top decks.  Normally not a fan, however these are outfitted with the ability to add a hot-tub (not included).  Do you know, I don’t believe I have ever come across a complex where hot tubs are welcome?  Also, natural gas outlet for the big barbeque – now how you get that up the stairs, I’m not sure, but that’s besides the point.  Also – TV hookup right where the hot tub can sit.  AND over 700 sq ft of deck to boot.  Views of the mountains and valley are a lovely bonus.

One floor down is where 3 of the 4 bedrooms are, with laundry nearby – so you don’t have to take all your clothing down to the main or ground floor to wash and then haul back up one or two flights of stairs.  The master en-suite is stunning and I mean stunning.  Marble on the floor and  walk-in shower walls complete with shower heads on either side, very generous dual sink cabinets with tons of storage and beautiful lighting.

As if this isn’t enough to wow you, I was nearly drooling with envy at the kitchen.  So much storage space – you need a ladder ( not kidding ) to reach the top, but the space is there if you need it. However, these tie for first place wow factors: the amazing appliance package – Fisher-Paykel dual dishwashers, 60 inches of dual refrigerators with bottom freezers, also Fisher-Paykel and a gas range, and the most gorgeous blue bottom cabinetry all with soft close drawers – of course – complemented by the 10′ island with Fir Stone waterfall countertop – both sides.  Oh swoon – I could totally see a party in here with lots of laughter, awesome food and memories being made.

Enter into the foyer where there is actually enough room to move around, and put your stuff down before you head up stairs or greet your guests.  This floor has the 4th bedroom and a separate bath, so if you needed an office space this would work beautifully.

Forced air with air conditioning – who doesn’t what that these days?!  Double side by side garage.  Everything a buyer wants – close to schools, commuter routes, shopping, transit – where the LRT or skytrain will be going right by – live in, rent out, invest in your future.

Built by Hayer Homes, the four remaining start at $839900.00 plus GST.  There is still time to add in some customization on some of these, should you choose. I would be thrilled to help you purchase one of these stunning townhomes.

MARCA Townhomes

Located in South Surrey, these townhomes are unique in that they’re not the 3 level above ground that you see everywhere, but 2 levels above with a full basement.  West Coast styling is evident as soon as you walk in, highlighted by gorgeous beams across the tall ceilings in the living room through to the kitchen which allow for oversized windows flooding the rooms with natural light.  When you walk in from the side by side double garage, you’re on the main living floor – so bringing in groceries is a breeze and your guests have easy access as well.  Built by Mortise the lifestyle is what embodies South Surrey.

Boasting over 2400 sq ft of luxuriously finished living space, here are a few of my favorite things:

13′ ceiling height in the stairwell up to the bedroom floor, the beams of course, the barn door that is installed for the ensuite – and there is a huge walk-in closet to the master.  Laundry on the bedroom floor – again – smart and logical design always makes me smile.  Add forced air with air conditioning which is becoming more and more needed with the climate change and super hot summers we’ve been experiencing.

These homes are prepped for an elevator should you choose or require one.  🙂

One of my favorite features and again logical design, is the storage room in the basement for your luggage, decorations, seasonal sports equipment etc., so you don’t have to clutter up the epoxy floored garage with STUFF.  You can actually put cars in there!  What a novel idea.

Only 18 units in this lovely complex that is well situated for shopping, schools and commuter routes but it feels rather private once you’re inside.  Prices start at 973900 plus GST, with completion starting in October!  If this looks and sounds like something you’d be interested in investing in – feel free to call me and we’ll go over there together and write up an offer!  PLUS for a short time only, there is a bonus to the buyers.

HAVEN Townhomes

Haven definition: a safe or peaceful place

This is what you feel when you’re here.  Safe and peaceful – well outside of the construction noises right now.  😉

Grocery shopping at Choices, or meeting friends for coffee at Starbucks – right across the street.  The location of Live at Haven is hard to beat and the finishings are quite something.  The stove in the show-home is a show stopper for sure. Definitely an upgrade – Grande La Cornue range – is so beautiful it’s easy to imagine amazing food being created on it – even if you can’t cook!  Black glossy enamel and gold knobs – over the top: ABSOLUTELY but in a grand way.

But I digress.  There are many attributes to this complex, from the location to the designer tiles in the powder room where the walls are covered in ship-lap for that farmhouse feel.    Quartz countertops – always a favorite as they are very hardy and don’t require maintenance.  Up to the master bedroom where the vaulted ceiling creates that spacious feeling we all are looking for, and to keep the farmhouse look intact, barn doors into en-suite.  I am in love with the colour scheme that has the black plumbing fixtures.  Black just has a way of being classic and decorator friendly.  You can change the look of your room very simply without having to worry about if the silver is polished, or brushed, nickel or brass, or gold, or whatever!

Haven will have a Clubhouse for the owners to enjoy including: covered bbq area, game/movie room and a large upper deck.  Included are roughed-in gas outlets for bbqs on the decks,

Starting in the mid 700’s, you get a lot for your money.  Most are double car garage width – always what you want to look for if you can afford it.  Makes them feel more like a house.  I know that the first phase is selling quickly, so again, if you’re interested in viewing and buying, call us and we’ll help you every step of the way.  Built by Park Ridge homes, you can rest assured that you’re getting a product that is backed by the company.

Renting vs Owning your home

There are many many reasons why owning a home is beneficial, compared to renting. And as always, it depends on the individual’s circumstances.

  • control of your surroundings
  • you know what your payments are going to be for the term of your mortgage
  • there is a sense of security
  • a feeling that we are safe in our homes
  • any equity that comes along is yours to do what you either need to or wish to
  • you can stay as long as desired – under most circumstances
  • no threats that the landlord is going to sell the home
  • when repairs are needed, you make the decision whether or not they’re going to happen
  • if you live in stratified complex, changes are made via majority or percentage as per bylaws

If you are currently renting and are wishing to get your foot in the door, we can help you.

Your first step is to go to a mortgage broker and find out how much you can qualify for – then call us and we can help you decide what that looks like, where, and how to get it done.
